Job summary

St. John Regional Catholic School in Maryland is seeking energetic Aftercare Assistants to engage children in play-based learning after the school day ends.

Responsibilities include supervising safety, coordinating activities, snack prep, and assisting with attendance and behavior coaching in a supportive, faith-based environment. The role requires a high school diploma and a 90-hour Child Care Certification, with First Aid/CPR preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma and a 90‑hour Child Care Certification.
• Experience in a Catholic school setting preferred.
• Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Faith and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
• Prior to hire, must complete a medical examination, EpiPen training, and any additional training required by school licensing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children during aftercare activities.
• Assist with attendance tracking, behavior coaching, and supervision.
• Prepare and distribute snacks and assist with opening lunches.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students’ safety and development.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather.
