Job summary

The Arlington Heights Park District seeks a part-time CAP Activity Leader to guide and supervise children in the after-school CAP program at assigned school sites within School Districts 25, 59, and 21. Shifts are mornings and afternoons with additional hours possible when schools are not in session.

Responsibilities include leading activities, assisting with planning, setting up and cleaning up, serving snacks, greeting participants and parents, and reporting any issues to the CAP Site

Qualifications

• High school student or GED.
• 1–2 years in childcare or children’s activities preferred.
• Equivalent mix of education, experience, and training.
• Must pass Illinois state background checks (ISP fingerprint and DCFS CANTS) and TB testing on hire.
• Strong ability to work with school-aged children and maintain positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead or supervise participants in activities with groups of varying sizes.
• Assist with planning age-appropriate activities.
• Set up and clean up after each activity, game, or craft.
• Prepare and serve snacks; assist with cleaning after snack times.
