Job summary

Foothills Park and Recreation District is seeking a part-time Program Leader for after-school childcare. The role runs 2:15/2:30pm-6:00pm on regular school days, with extended hours during school breaks, and involves supervising youth ages 5-12, planning activities, and maintaining a safe, engaging environment.

The position requires working with children, communication with families, and flexibility in a dynamic setting. It offers an opportunity to gain leadership experience in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Minimum 460 hours of documented experience working with children.
• Knowledge and application of positive classroom management and child redirection.
• Willing to obtain trainings to work in a licensed childcare environment (CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter Training, Playground Safety, Injury Prevention and Medication Administration).
• Pass TRAILS and CBI/FBI fingerprint background checks for licensing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily supervision and care of youth ages 5-12.
• Maintain a safe environment and ensure safety precautions during programs and field trips.
• Facilitate activities such as arts, science, building, dramatic play, and gross motor games.
• Set up daily routines, snacks, meals, and supervise playgrounds.
• Collaborate with other after-school staff to plan activities and foster a positive work culture.
