Job summary

AoPS Academy in Pleasanton, CA is seeking a Part-Time Math Instructor to teach advanced students using our curriculum in small classes, in person at the Pleasanton campus. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree, strong mathematics knowledge, and K–12 teaching or tutoring experience.

The role offers an hourly rate, paid sick leave, student discounts, a 401(k) match, and a flexible schedule with a minimum of three hours per week. Evening/weekend availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related or educational field is strongly preferred.
• Strong content knowledge in mathematics.
• Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring students.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging curriculum using AoPS materials in small mathematics classes.
• Actively engage students in class and encourage student-led learning.
• Manage classrooms with up to 16 students.
• Grade tests and provide constructive feedback.
• Build relationships with students and families to support learning.
• Inspire a love for mathematics and critical thinking.
