Job summary

Amenia Free Library is seeking an Adult Programming Assistant to plan, organize, and run the library's adult programming schedule, including crafts, book clubs, and guest presentations. The role also involves staffing the Circulation Desk and helping patrons with services in a welcoming, helpful manner under the Library Director.

This part-time position (25 hours/week) may include after-hours events and 2–3 Saturdays per month.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong computer skills incl. email, Google and Microsoft products.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and navigate stairs.

Responsibilities

• Create, organize, and execute the library’s adult programming schedule.
• Run programs for adults (arts/crafts, book clubs, guest presenters).
• Staff the Circulation Desk and assist patrons with services.
• Answer phones and provide a welcoming presence at the desk.
• Multitask and collaborate with the Library Director.
