Job summary

Friendship Village is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Assistant to join our Skilled Nursing team in a part-time role. The position focuses on implementing a varied scope of activities and recreation for residents in a Life-Care community.

Starting pay is $16.00 per hour with opportunities for daily pay and holiday perks. Eligible for incentives for evening and weekend shifts, and participation in the community newsletter. Vaccination status may be requested as part of policy.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with strong verbal and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide input and initiate creative programs for residents with varying functioning levels.
• Daily charting of attendance, one-on-one visits, and reporting changes to the Activity Director; contribute to the monthly Newsletter.
• Transport residents to activities, handle mail duties, supervise activities, assist with meal tray service and dining room setup, and support out-of-building activities.

Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll be doing each day as an Activity Assistant:

• Provides input and takes initiation of creative programs for both high and low-level functioning residents.
• Daily charting of attendance, one on one room visits, and reporting any significant changes in behavior to the Activity Director. Will participate in contributing to the monthly Newsletter.
• Transporting residents to and from activities, passing and reading mail to residents, organizing and supervising group activities, helping with the passing of meal trays and dining room set up, assisting with out of building activities.
