Job summary

Friendship Village Kalamazoo is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Assistant to join our Skilled Nursing team. This full-time role involves implementing a varied scope of activities and recreation for residents, with a starting pay of $16.00 per hour.

You will support engagement, transport residents to activities, help with meal service, and collaborate with the Activity Director to promote well-being in a Life-Care community.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with strong verbal and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement varied activity programs for residents.
• Maintain daily attendance and notes, and report changes to the Activity Director.

Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll be doing each day as an Activity Assistant:

• Provides input and takes initiation of creative programs for both high and low-level functioning residents.
• Daily charting of attendance, one on one room visits, and reporting any significant changes in behavior to the Activity Director. Will participate in contributing to the monthly Newsletter.
• Transporting residents to and from activities, passing and reading mail to residents, organizing and supervising group activities, helping with the passing of meal trays and dining room set up, assisting with out of building activities.
