Avalon View Health and Wellness in Liberty, MO is seeking an energetic Activity Assistant to bring joy, purpose, and connection to residents. You will support the Activity Director in planning meaningful programs, helping residents stay active, engaged, and fulfilled.

This role focuses on planning daily activities, leading group and one-on-one sessions, maintaining records, and creating a warm, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Activity certification preferred.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.
• Experience leading recreational or social programs within the last five years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and leading daily activity programs such as arts & crafts, games, music, exercise, educational sessions, religious services, and community outings
• Encourage residents to participate in group and one-on-one activities
• Help maintain accurate activity documentation (with training)
• Support the Activity Director with supply ordering, receipts, and monthly activity calendars
• Maintain resident preference lists, precautions, and activity limitations
• Help facilitate Resident Council meetings when needed
• Participate in planning special events involving residents, families, staff, and the community
• Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all residents

As an Activity Assistant, you’ll help create a vibrant, engaging environment where residents can stay active, connected, and fulfilled. You’ll support the Activity Director in planning and delivering programs that honor each resident’s interests, abilities, and individuality.
