Job summary

VCU is seeking a part-time Academic Testing and Support Assistant for the Nurse Anesthesia department. The role supports faculty, instructors, and students at distance sites in Roanoke and Abingdon, proctoring exams and assisting with instructional activities.

The position emphasizes maintaining a respectful, safe educational environment, coordinating with department leadership, and ensuring smooth operation of testing areas across onsite sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in an educational setting.
• Ability to maintain a safe and supportive environment for learners.
• Exposure to classroom management or classroom technician roles.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite classroom support to faculty, instructors, and students at Nurse Anesthesia distance sites.
• Proctor exams, tests, and other instructional activities.
• Serve as a liaison between distance site students and Department leadership.
• Monitor student progress and communicate barriers to success to leadership.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable policies and department regulations.
