Job summary

Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County is seeking an Afterschool Program Educator to support the 4-H Afterschool Program for K‑12 students across Beaver River, Belleville Henderson, Carthage, Copenhagen, Indian River, LaFargeville or Watertown.

This part-time role (20 hours per week) delivers STEAM activities, assists with lesson planning, coordinates with school staff, communicates with families, and helps with program evaluation while meeting SACC/OCFS licensing

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent (GED/High School Diploma with one year of transferable experience).
• Relevant experience for the role.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and ability to meet travel requirements.
• Compliance with SACC and OCFS licensing requirements (tuberculosis test, physical exam, training).
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver STEAM activities and other 4-H after‑school programs.
• Assist the After‑School Program Coordinator with lesson‑plan creation and delivery of innovative programs.
• Support teachers during the academic study portion of the program.
• Collaborate with school personnel to align instruction with learner needs.
• Travel as needed to transport participants or materials.
• Participate in program evaluation, collect and interpret data, and report results.
