Job summary

Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County is seeking a part-time Afterschool Program Educator to support the 4‑H Afterschool Program for K‑12 students. The role may be assigned to one of several school districts (Beaver River, Belleville Henderson, Carthage, Copenhagen, Indian River, LaFargeville, or Watertown).

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent (GED/HS diploma with one year of transferable experience).
• Relevant experience for the role.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and ability to meet travel requirements.
• Compliance with SACC and OCFS licensing requirements (tuberculosis test, physical exam, training).
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Program Delivery, Evaluation, and Applied Research: Teach STEAM activities and other 4‑H after‑school programs; assist with lesson-plan creation and delivery; support teachers during academic study portions; collaborate with school personnel to align instruction; provide staffing or programming coverage; participate in program evaluation and report results.
• Administrative Responsibilities: Coordinate projects and outreach; organize materials; assist with marketing and reports; communicate with parents and agencies; travel as needed.
• Professional Improvement and Other Duties: Complete required trainings for SACC and OCFS licensing; develop a professional development plan; engage in staff meetings and expense reporting; support Extension programs.
