Job summary

Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County is seeking an Afterschool Program Educator to deliver 4-H youth development across K-12 in multiple districts. The role involves teaching STEAM content, developing lesson plans, and assisting teachers during academic study portions.

The position is part-time (20 hours/week) with a $20.00 hourly rate and benefits including health/dental insurance, retirement, and leave accrual for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent education (GED/HS diploma with 1 year transferrable experience).
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and ability to meet travel requirements.
• Ability to meet SACC and OCFS licensing requirements (TB test, physical, training).
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Teach 4-H STEAM programs using established curriculum.
• Assist in creating lesson plans and delivering programs.
• Staff and/or program coverage for other after-school programs.
• Interact with participants to obtain evaluation data and communicate results.
