Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from college or university.
  • Experience: One year in management, administration, legal, paralegal, or offender records.
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
  • Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: military or related work may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

  • Calculates terms of imprisonment, credits, release dates, and parole eligibility.
  • Audits accuracy of terms of imprisonment and reviews inmate records for transfers.
  • Enters data into the Kentucky Offender Management System and maintains active/inactive records.
  • Provides information to officials, the public, and courts; prepares furloughs, transfers, and parole lists.
  • Answers inquiries from Probation/Parole for sentences and release dates; processes open records requests.
