Job summary

City of Germantown is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance of City Campus property, public spaces, Oaklawn Gardens, and Farm Park. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, operating power tools, and working outdoors in all weather.

A valid High School diploma or GED and park/tree maintenance experience are required; CDL preferred or obtainable within 6 months. Work includes assisting with events, ensuring safety, and coordinating with supervisor to complete daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques used in park maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety practices for tree work.
• Ability to read and understand instructions and blueprints.
• Ability to work at heights and operate park equipment.
• Ability to train and lead other workers on projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain City Campus property and public spaces including Oaklawn Gardens and Farm Park.
• Perform duties related to the city’s urban forest and trails.
• Operate power tools and equipment used in park maintenance.
• Assist supervisor to complete daily projects on schedule and to specs.
• Provide safety information and respond to public inquiries as needed.
• Assist with snow removal and special events when required.
