Job summary

The City of New Carrollton is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to keep parks and public spaces in excellent condition. This full-time outdoor role involves operating landscaping equipment, seasonal maintenance, and helping maintain City grounds with a safe, active, hands-on approach.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3 months of grounds keeping experience, and basic computer/email skills. Valid driver’s license and background check required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic computer skills; ability to read, write and email.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain playgrounds, parks, fields, and other City grounds.
• Operate landscaping equipment and perform seasonal maintenance.
• Assist in loading/unloading equipment and materials; perform minor repairs.
