Job summary

City of University City is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to perform varied tasks in the upkeep, refurbishment and repair of parks and related facilities. This role involves operating equipment, inspecting assets, and ensuring systems meet codes.

You will maintain electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and plumbing systems while supporting coworkers and prioritizing safety. High school diploma and CDL are required, with OSHA 10/30 certifications pursued within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of directly related park and facility maintenance experience.
• Class B CDL within six months.
• OSHA 10 certification within six months; OSHA 30 within one year.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of light and heavy equipment.
• Conducts inspections of parks, facilities, equipment and amenities.
• Performs maintenance duties and repairs to electrical, plumbing and building systems.
• Maintains and repairs park irrigation, pools and playgrounds.
• Works with others to complete maintenance tasks and adheres to city policies.
