Job summary

City of Richmond Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities is seeking temporary staff for full-time seasonal maintenance in Richmond, VA. Responsibilities include planting, caring for and maintaining trees, preparing sites for plantings, and performing general maintenance tasks.

You will operate tools, assist with invasive removal and volunteer events, and track inventory. Qualifications include a Virginia driver’s license, experience with small equipment and vehicles, basic computer use, and

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia Driver’s License with a good driving record.
• Basic computer use (email and internet searches).
• Experience operating small equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and flexible schedule including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.
• Assist with site preparation for tree plantings and soil amendments.
• Maintain planted sites (weeding, mulching, mowing, edging, watering).
• Assist with invasive removal and control.
• Assist with volunteer tree-planting and tree-care events.
• Assist with inventory tracking.
• Other duties as assigned.
