Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) through its Parks and Recreation division seeks a Maintenance/Construction Technician II (S) for Carvers Creek State Park in Spring Lake, NC. The role maintains park grounds, buildings, facilities and equipment, working independently or with others on custodial duties, grounds maintenance, and basic auto mechanics.

Typical schedule is 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Sunday with potential evenings, holidays, or weekends;

Qualifications

• Demonstrated work experience performing trades in at least two of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics.
• Experience in grounds maintenance/landscaping.
• Maintenance on buildings, facilities, and grounds equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled tasks in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance.
• Operate large and small equipment and tools.
• Purchase resources according to state policies and procedures.
• Maintain records and prepare forms.
• Assist in housekeeping.
