Job summary

City of Watauga seeks a Parks Maintenance Worker under general supervision to perform semi-skilled labor in parks operations, including mowing, weed-eating, cleaning facilities, planting trees, irrigation, and playground maintenance. May operate trucks, tractors, and other equipment.

Responsibilities include supporting special events, repairing and replacing items around facilities, installing landscape materials, and following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience or training in park maintenance preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain landscape equipment and small machinery.
• Willingness to perform physically demanding outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform mowing, weed-eating, trash pickup, and facility cleaning.
• Repair or replace damaged items in or around parks.
• Install landscape materials and irrigation systems as assigned.
• Operate a variety of maintenance and construction equipment for park projects.
• Support Parks and Community Services programs and events.
