Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of general maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance equipment operation and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Participate in repair and maintenance of city parks, cemetery and sports complex.
• Mow, weed eat, plant trees, repair irrigation systems, pick up trash and clean bathrooms.
• Maintain ball fields by mowing, tilling, leveling and striping.
• Operate light equipment including mowers, edgers, tiller, pickup truck, chainsaw and other equipment.
• Maintain and repair assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment; report major repair needs.
• Show cemetery plots to potential customers and locate/mark graves.
• Assist other departments during special events with setup, cleaning and traffic control.
• Adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
• Respond to public inquiries courteously and resolve complaints efficiently.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
