Job summary

The City of Watauga is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to join the street maintenance crew under supervision from the Streets Supervisor. You will assist with concrete and asphalt work, pothole repair, and traffic control while operating street equipment as required.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with a Texas Driver's License and CDL possible within six months. Applicants will perform manual labor such as pouring concrete, shoveling asphalt, raking, tamping, and maintaining signs,

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have Texas Driver's License; CDL may be required within 6 months.
• Ability to operate street maintenance equipment safely and comply with safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of street maintenance crew performing concrete and asphalt tasks.
• Operate street maintenance equipment (jack hammers, rollers, trucks) as needed.
• Assist with traffic control, set up delineators, barricades, cones, signals.
• Shovel, rake, tamp, and level asphalt; assist with concrete work and forms.
• Assist in trimming vegetation and maintaining right of ways and signs.
• Ensure safety procedures and proper use of safety equipment at all times.
