Job summary

City of Athens is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform manual labor and semi-skilled tasks in city parks and facilities in Texas. You will operate mowing equipment, trim landscaping, and assist with minor repairs to irrigation, plumbing, and electrical systems as needed.

Responsibilities include maintaining park grounds, cleaning and organizing service areas, and assisting in events. A valid Texas driver's license and a high school diploma or GED are required; three years in general

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic landscaping.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License with good driving record.
• Three years of general maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Operates mowing equipment and performs routine park maintenance.
• Mows grass, clears foliage, cleans park grounds and maintains park facilities.
• Maintains park equipment and facilities; assists with minor plumbing and irrigation repairs.
• Assists with cleaning, organizing, and inventory control of service areas.
• Operates various small equipment and large vehicles.
• Follows safety regulations and reports problems to supervisors.
• May be required to work a 24-hour stand-by on-call basis.
• Performs other related duties as assigned
