Job summary

The City of New Braunfels seeks a dependable Park Operations worker to join the Parks and Recreation team. Under supervision, you will perform general labor and maintenance of City parks, golf course, facilities and infrastructure while following safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, maintaining grounds, making basic repairs, and reporting hazards. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather, lift up to 80 pounds, and flexible hours including early mornings, weekends,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to operate basic tools and equipment.
• Must possess valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of equipment and performs manual labor to maintain safe parks and facilities.
• Maintains city facilities and buildings.
• Assists in planting, watering, mowing, weeding, trimming and landscaping.
• Makes repairs using carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanic skills; reports issues.
• Recognizes and reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries.
• Works flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
