Job summary

City of Tucson's Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Parks Maintenance Coordinator to guide groundskeepers, assign workloads, and assist in hiring and evaluating staff. The role supervises park maintenance tasks, coordinates facility upkeep, and ensures safety and compliance across locations.

You will prepare reports on operations and staff performance, drive to sites, and develop schedules that align with city policies and park events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of relevant experience.
• Valid Arizona Class D Driver License required.
• Must obtain State Pesticide Applicator License within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coaches park maintenance staff in mowing, weed eating, and playground upkeep.
• Reviews workloads and assigns facility maintenance tasks and turf care.
• Manages priorities, resources, and timelines for events and lake water tests.
• Participates in recruitment, hiring, and performance evaluations.
• Writes and submits reports on maintenance activities and compliance.

Skills

Supervisory experience with field staf

Education
