Job summary

The City of Tucson is seeking a Parks Maintenance Coordinator within the Parks and Recreation Department. The role guides groundskeepers and maintenance staff, contributing to performance evaluations and coordinating staffing for multiple full-time positions under supervision.

Required: High school diploma, 1+ year experience, and AZ Driver License. Preferred: State pesticide applicator license, supervisory experience, and landscaping certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of relevant experience.
• Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
• Valid and unrestricted Arizona Class D Driver License - AZDOT/MVD

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coaches employees in mowing grass, weed eating, and maintaining playgrounds.
• Reviews workloads and assigns tasks related to facility maintenance, including turf care and equipment checks.
• Manages workload priorities, resources, and timelines for tasks such as park events, lake tests, gardens and ball fields.
• Participates in recruitment, hiring, and performance evaluations for facility maintenance staff.
• Leads teams to uphold standards of excellence in facility maintenance and community engagement.
