Job summary

The City of Atlanta is seeking a Parks Supervisor to oversee staff responsible for parks and amenities. You will ensure maintenance services are scheduled, planned, and recorded to meet standards, and lead safety training when operating equipment.

Responsibilities include inspections, work orders, and keeping facilities clean and safe. You will supervise grounds tasks, coordinate landscape work, and manage inventories while communicating with department staff and the public.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of experience in park operations, grounds or building maintenance.
• Two (2) years of experience as lead worker or supervisor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes meetings with department staff and community members to disseminate parks information.
• Represents department by presenting park development efforts to neighborhood associations and other organizations.
• Drafts plans and specifications for assigned projects and serves on committees.
• Monitors staff, provides training, and conducts inspections and job appraisals.
• Completes end-of-day reports and operates equipment such as riding mowers, trucks, and chainsaws.
• Maintains park grounds, inspects playgrounds, removes debris, and ensures safety standards.
