Job summary

The City is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on park equipment, assist in the shop and yard operations, and manage inventory and parts delivery.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of paid experience in diagnosing and repairing minor mechanical issues on vehicles and equipment; valid driver’s license in Arizona. Work may include nights, weekends, holidays, and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and 1 year paid experience diagnosing, maintaining and repairing minor mechanical issues on vehicles, machinery, small tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled and skilled service and maintenance of minor repair work on park equipment, including inspecting, diagnosing and correcting minor mechanical problems.
• Perform minor repairs on trucks and equipment under supervision.
• Maintain the park shop, employee lounge, storage buildings and storage yard.
• Order, pickup and delivery of parts, materials, fuel and equipment for shop and yard.
• Monitor inventory and track use and purchases; track vehicle mileage and hours.
• Support city policies, ensure safety procedures are followed.
