The City of Rochester's Public Works Department is hiring for a full-time Parks General Laborer. Key duties include mowing, tree trimming, trash removal, and park sanitation. The role involves planting trees, pruning for safety, and operating various heavy equipment to support park maintenance.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The position includes an extensive benefits package and a starting salary in a defined range.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Valid Michigan CDL Class B with N endorsement and air brakes; six-month window to obtain if not held.
• Two to three years of maintenance work experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Mow, trim, trash removal, cleaning parks bathrooms; plant trees and mulch.
• Prune and trim trees for safety per forester instructions; remove trees as needed.
• Operate trucks for brush/trash collection and haul to disposal.
• Perform routine park maintenance and restoration of parkways.
• Work Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
