Job summary

The City of Leawood is hiring a Parks Maintenance Worker to care for local parks and green spaces. This full-time role supports maintaining the beauty and safety of outdoor areas and requires a hands-on, safety-conscious approach.

Starting pay is $22.06–$25.00 per hour with benefits; typical schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Training and teamwork are emphasized to deliver quality public spaces for the community.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform general grounds maintenance to keep outdoor areas clean, safe, and well-kept.
• Operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with minor repairs or upkeep of outdoor facilities and walkways.
• Plant flowers, shrubs, and seasonal vegetation.
• Prune trees, shrubs, and other vegetation to maintain healthy growth and appearance.
• Weed flower beds, garden areas, and landscaped areas.
• Water plants, lawns, and other vegetation as needed.
