Job summary

City of Leawood is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to help maintain the beauty and safety of our parks and green spaces. Previous park maintenance experience is helpful but not required, as we are prepared to train the right person with the right attitude and a commitment to safety.

Starting pay is $22.06 to $25.00 per hour, with health insurance starting after the first month, paid time off, and retirement options through KPERS and a 457(b) plan.

Qualifications

• Valid driver''s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform general grounds maintenance to keep outdoor areas clean, safe, and well-kept.
• Operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with minor repairs or upkeep of outdoor facilities and walkways.
• Plant flowers, shrubs, and seasonal vegetation.
• Prune trees, shrubs, and other vegetation to maintain healthy growth and appearance.
• Weed flower beds, garden areas, and landscaped areas.
• Water plants, lawns, and other vegetation as needed.
