The City of Leawood is hiring a Parks Maintenance Worker to care for local parks and green spaces. This full-time role supports maintaining the beauty and safety of outdoor areas and requires a hands-on, safety-conscious approach.

Starting pay is $22.06–$25.00 per hour with benefits; typical schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Training and teamwork are emphasized to deliver quality public spaces for the community.

Previous park maintenance experience is helpful but not required. We are prepared to train someone with the right attitude, work ethic, and commitment to safety.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record

PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED

• Experience in parks, landscaping, or grounds maintenance
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes and tanker endorsements

SCHEDULE & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Employees may be required to work evenings and/or weekends during peak periods, emergency operations, and other events
• Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions
• This is a physically active, hand-on role with a team that relies on each other every day
• Typical schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

PAY & BENEFITS

• Starting Rate of Pay: $22.06 - $25.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
• Insurance Benefits: Coverage begins on the first day of the month following hire
