Job summary

Carteret County Government is seeking a Parks Maintenance Technician to maintain the grounds at the county’s parks in Newport, NC. The role involves operating equipment, supervising seasonal staff, and performing basic to skilled trades in a park setting.

Qualifications

• High School graduation required.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license upon hire.
• Able to perform heavy manual labor and flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prioritizes and performs maintenance on park grounds, athletic fields, buildings and equipment.
• Leads temporary and part-time workers to complete maintenance projects safely and on time.
• Repairs and maintains park facilities, irrigation systems, and playground equipment.
