Job summary

Horry County Parks & Recreation is seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance worker to help keep parks, athletic fields, and other facilities clean and well maintained. You will perform routine landscaping tasks, operate a range of lawn and maintenance equipment, and apply fertilizers or pesticides following safety procedures.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid SC/NC driver’s license, and the ability to pass pre-employment physical and background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
• South Carolina or North Carolina Driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass the pre-employment physical and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor and semi-skilled work in landscaping and maintenance of parks.
• Operate mowers, weed eaters, blowers and other power tools.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals per safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of facilities and grounds; perform custodial duties.
• Provide friendly customer service and respond to park users.
