Job summary

The City of Hallandale Beach is seeking a field operations worker to perform maintenance of park grounds, landscaping, athletic fields and facilities, under supervision. The role involves operating a variety of tools, equipment and vehicles in the care and repair of City parks, beaches, centers and buildings.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED with some experience in parks maintenance, and must obtain First Aid, CPR and AED within 3 months.

Qualifications

Must have a High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience in parks maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
Must have First Aid, CPR and AED certifications within three months of hire.
Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification or obtain within one year of employment.
Must be able to perform each of the established essential functions to perform this job successfully.
Applicants must sign an affidavit for non-use of tobacco products in order to be considered for employment.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in maintenance of park grounds, landscaping, athletic fields and/or facilities.
Operates a variety of tools, equipment, and vehicles in the operation, repair, and maintenance of City parks, beaches, athletic fields and/or facilities, centers, and buildings.
Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude for initiative and independent judgement.
