Job summary

City of Casselberry is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to perform routine park and grounds maintenance and repair in accordance with city policies. You will inspect parks daily, maintain landscapes, repair playground equipment, clean restrooms, and ensure safety.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED preferred and at least one year of maintenance experience; must have a valid Florida driver's license and pass the FDLE background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in maintenance of parks/grounds or related field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s license.
• FDLE background clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance and repair of parks and grounds.
• Daily visual inspection of parks, playground equipment and recreation fields.
• Maintain park landscape; repair playground equipment and playing fields.
• Clean public restrooms and receptacles; remove debris.
• Apply pesticides and fertilizers to control weeds and insects.
• Respond to requests and work orders promptly.
• Install and maintain split rail fence city-wide.
• Pressure wash hard surfaces and playground equipment.
• Follow safety practices and city policies.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and materials on work vehicle and small equipment.
• Assist in pavilion and kayak rentals.
• Adhere to laws, regulations and policies of the City.
• Participate in meetings and training; maintain public records as required.
• Comply with core values and mission of City of Casselberry.
• Maintain and dispose of records per FS Chapter 119.
