Job summary

The City of Ormond Beach is seeking a semi-skilled maintenance worker to perform manual work in the maintenance and preparation of athletic fields, under the Athletics Supervisor.

Duties are routine in nature and may include maintaining fields and parks, delivering equipment, and assisting with events. Overtime and emergency call-outs may be required; a valid Florida driver’s license is required. A high school diploma or GED and 1 year of field maintenance experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1 year experience preferred.
• Valid Florida driver’s license required.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintains ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, etc. for practices and games.
• Maintains parks and playgrounds for cleanliness and safety.
• Delivers field equipment as needed.
• Assists in setting up and tearing down for tournaments/special events.
• Operates and maintains trucks, tractors, air compressors, and other motorized equipment.
• Must be available for overtime and emergency call-outs when necessary.
• Assists in preparation for, response to, and recovery from a wide variety of disasters or emergency situations and may be temporarily assigned to other duties, locations, and shifts.
• Meets attendance requirements.
• Promotes positive customer service environment internally and externally.
• Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
