Job summary

The City of Hallandale Beach is seeking a field operations worker to perform maintenance of park grounds, landscaping, athletic fields and facilities, under supervision. The role involves operating a variety of tools, equipment and vehicles in the care and repair of City parks, beaches, centers and buildings.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED with some experience in parks maintenance, and must obtain First Aid, CPR and AED within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Must have a High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience in parks maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
• Must have First Aid, CPR and AED certifications within three months of hire.
• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification or obtain within one year of employment.
• Must be able to perform each of the established essential functions to perform this job successfully.
• Applicants must sign an affidavit for non-use of tobacco products in order to be considered for employment.

Operates a variety of tools, equipment, and vehicles in the operation, repair, and maintenance of City parks, beaches, athletic fields and/or facilities, centers, and buildings. Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

• High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience in parks maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
• Must have or obtain First Aide, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External (AED) certifications within three (3) months of hire.
• Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
• Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.
• In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions to perform this job successfully.
