Job summary

City of Parkland in Florida is seeking a parks maintenance worker to care for City-owned facilities and equipment, including playgrounds, benches, signs and water features. You will inspect facilities, trim trees, repair electrical/plumbing, drywall/ carpentry, paint and weld as needed; operate trucks and power tools, perform medium lifting, and meet safety standards.

The role requires a High School diploma, 3 years related experience, a valid driver’s license and FEMA certifications achievable

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Three years of related work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• FEMA 100, 200, and 700 certifications, or the ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Repair park equipment (playgrounds, fencing, benches, fountains, signs).
• Pressure wash sidewalks, buildings, and courts.
• Minor electrical and plumbing repairs as needed.
• Drywall, framing, and door repairs.
• Inspect facilities, parks, and equipment regularly.
• Trim and remove trees as needed.
• Assist maintenance crews with sod installation.
• Paint equipment and signage.
• Carpentry for repairs and projects.
• Weld benches and goals as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as required.
