Job summary

The City of Hialeah is seeking workers to perform a variety of manual labor tasks in City facilities, including maintenance, cleaning and installations. You will assist skilled trades and operate basic tools as directed by supervisors.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to lift up to 30 pounds, and hold a valid Florida driver’s license. Prior city maintenance experience is a plus and positions may require outdoor work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform light to heavy manual labor for extended periods.
• Must be able to understand and follow oral or written instructions.
• Must have a valid Florida driver's license.
• Experience with city maintenance tasks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction, maintenance, cleaning, repairs and installations in City facilities.
• Forms and pours sidewalks and concrete; breaks and replaces pavement.
• Operate hand tools and support skilled trades as needed.
• Transport materials and equipment; load/unload trucks.
• Washes and maintains City facilities and related areas.
