Job summary

City of Oxnard is seeking a Parks Maintenance Technician to help maintain grounds, parkways, medians, and facilities across the city. You will inspect sites, report needs, and operate a range of maintenance tools and equipment to keep parks clean and safe for the public.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, two years of related maintenance experience, and a valid California Driver’s License. English communication is essential; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Two years of maintenance experience.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of grounds, plantings, and facilities in parks, medians, and rights‑of‑way.
• Inspect parks and facilities; document and report issues.
• Operate maintenance equipment and vehicles; perform routine custodial duties.
• Assist in irrigation, landscaping, and pesticide application as needed.
• Maintain records of work performed and safety practices.
