Job summary

The City of Delray Beach is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to maintain parks, facilities, and grounds. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid Florida driver’s license, and involves light to heavy manual labor in outdoor conditions.

Work is conducted in a non-tobacco workplace with standard municipal safety practices. Schedule includes Wednesday through Sunday, 4:30 am to 1:00 pm, with duties that include landscape care, turf installation, and equipment operation.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
1 year of experience doing heavy manual labor.
Valid Florida Driver's License with good driving record.
Ability to perform heavy manual labor under varying weather conditions.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

Maintain buildings, grounds, and parks, including cleaning, scraping, and painting.
May spray insecticides and herbicides.
May install turf on fields and perform litter control.
Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Submit daily written and oral reports.
Operate vehicles, mowers, and bucket trucks.
Mow, weed, and perform general grounds work.
