Job summary

The City of Blair, Nebraska is hiring a City Parks Laborer to join the Parks Department. This non-exempt position helps keep our parks, cemetery, and recreational areas clean, safe, and welcoming.

Qualifications

• Experience with groundskeeping or general maintenance is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate basic tools and equipment used for outdoor maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds at city parks, pool, ball fields, cemetery and other properties (mowing, edging, trimming, raking).
• Plant, care for landscaping beds, soil prep, planting, watering, weeding, mulching, pruning.
• Assist with irrigation, fertilizing, aerating, and treating problem areas.
• Collect trash, clean restrooms, and maintain facilities and equipment.
• Assist cemetery operations, including gravesites prep and family assistance.
• Support event setup/cleanup, snow removal, and general upkeep.
