Job summary

The City of Kearney, Nebraska is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks across parks, facilities and recreational spaces. You will operate trucks and light equipment, contribute to turf care, landscaping and field maintenance, and assist with minor building maintenance.

You will plan, supervise seasonal staff, coordinate with recreation staff and user groups, and help prepare parks for events, ensuring safe, clean and vibrant public spaces year-round.

Qualifications

• Require a high school diploma/GED and experience in ground maintenance, nursery or landscape work.
• Must possess a valid Nebraska driver’s license and the ability to obtain an EPA pesticide applicator license within 12 months of hire.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
