Job summary

City of Blair, NE is seeking a City Parks Laborer to maintain parks, cemeteries, and recreational areas. This non-exempt, outdoors role focuses on groundskeeping, mowing, landscaping, and cleaning facilities.

You’ll operate basic maintenance equipment, assist with irrigation, and provide courteous service to visitors, families, and staff. Required: high school diploma or GED and at least one year of laborer or maintenance experience; residency near Blair is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of laborer or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate groundskeeping tools and equipment.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds at City parks, pool, ball fields, cemetery, and other City properties.
• Plant and care landscaping and flower beds; mulch, prune, and water.
• Assist with irrigation systems and lawn care, including fertilizing and aeration.
• Collect trash and debris; clean and restock public restrooms.
• Maintain park facilities; perform minor repairs and painting.
