Job summary

Prince William County Government, through its Department of Parks and Recreation, seeks a Maintenance and Operations Supervisor to lead grounds maintenance across a 5,000-acre park system. You will supervise 8–13 staff in a 7-day operation, manage field and office work, and ensure quality control and safety compliance while mentoring staff and coordinating resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years in maintenance planning and supervision.
• Experience planning, scheduling, organizing and prioritizing work activities.
• Experience supervising staff; use of industry equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate, and complete grounds maintenance for parks and properties.
• Supervise a crew of 8–13 staff for a 7-day per week operation; promote positive work environment.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with agency, local, state, and federal policies.
• Train, coach, and mentor staff in athletic fields, turf, landscaping, irrigation, and park amenities.
