Job summary

Prince William County Government seeks a Maintenance and Operations Supervisor to lead a 7-day grounds maintenance program across parks and properties. You will supervise 8–13 staff, ensure safety, quality, and compliance, and manage field and office tasks with emphasis on training and morale.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 3 years of experience planning, scheduling, organizing and prioritizing work activities related to maintenance of athletic fields, park grounds and amenities.
• VA Commercial Pesticide Applicator License category 6 is preferred.
• Experience supervising staff and using industry equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate, and complete all grounds maintenance services for parks and properties in assigned area.
• Supervise a crew of 8-13 staff for a 7-day operation, promoting positive work environment and high morale.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with agency, local, state, and federal policies.
• Perform field and office work, lead by example, and train/coach staff in maintenance tasks.
• Estimate materials/supplies, calibrate equipment, and apply products as needed.
