Prince William County Government is seeking a seasoned Director of Parks and Recreation to lead a large, diverse agency. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in recreation management, business or public administration, physical education, or related field.
• Eight years of progressively responsible experience in recreation, parks, cultural services, or public administration with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and overall management of the Department of Parks and Recreation.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate department strategies, goals and policies.
• Direct and oversee multiple divisions and program areas for collaboration and outcomes.
• Oversee operating and capital budgets with emphasis on revenue generation and cost efficiency.
• Lead department management staff, set priorities, mentor leaders and foster high performance.
• Direct major facility, park, and program development projects within budget and timelines.
• Review and monitor programs to ensure alignment with county goals and performance metrics.
• Build internal and external partnerships and communicate priorities to leadership and stakeholders.
• Serve as liaison to volunteers, leagues and civic partners to expand resources.
• Maintain public visibility and gather input from citizens with strong customer service.
