The City of Cedar Park is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Assistant to perform a variety of maintenance and construction tasks across city parks and facilities. The role involves assisting in rights-of-way and park grounds maintenance, operating standard equipment, and supporting city departments with general projects.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and may have 1 year of general maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods, practices, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance of parks and related facilities.
• Ability to follow safety standards and operate maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work with co-workers and the public; tolerate outside working conditions.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of entry-level maintenance and construction tasks.
• Assists with grounds keeping of rights of way, drainage areas, and park maintenance.
• Operates vehicles, equipment, and tools such as mowers, jack hammers, and carpentry tools.
• Performs routine inspections of equipment and maintains work areas.
• Works some weekends and holidays; performs other related duties as assigned.
