Job summary

The City of Cedar Park seeks an Equipment Operator II to perform maintenance on streets, drainage, and rights‑of‑way. You will operate a range of light and heavy equipment and contribute to the repair and upkeep of city infrastructure.

Required are a high school diploma and 3–5 years of operator experience; a Texas Class A CDL and Work Zone/Flagger certification or equivalents will be needed within specified timelines. This is a safety‑sensitive, full‑time city role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of equipment operator experience in street/utility maintenance or related fields.
• Or an approved equivalent combination of experience and training providing required knowledge and abilities.
• Texas Class A CDL with acceptable driving record or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Work Zone/Flagger certification (IMSA/TEEX or equivalent) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate light and heavy equipment including, but not limited to, backhoes, loaders, excavators, dump trucks, street sweepers, and related tools.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain streets, sidewalks, drainage, and related facilities; repair potholes and resurface as required.
