Job summary

City of Cedar Park is seeking an Equipment Operator I to perform maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems. You will operate light equipment, perform routine inspections, and help with road work and traffic control.

This role requires reliability, safety awareness, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of maintenance experience, plus a valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain one

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years general maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within six months.

Responsibilities

• Operate light equipment such as chainsaws, mowers, and hand tools safely.
• Load, transport, and unload equipment and materials for projects.
• Perform routine inspections and basic repairs on equipment.
• Grade, patch, seal cracks, resurface streets, and repair potholes.
• Set up and remove road-work traffic control zones and barricades.
• Maintain and repair street signs, markings, and drainage systems.
